hot water tank connections

Post by phantomvs » Tue Mar 12, 2019 6:20 am

Ok....so just wondering as i can connect my electric hot water tank inlet to 3/4" cold water supply tube as its the 1st thing connected from my water meter before it all goes down to the 1/2" reducer .

The output "hot" water side will have to be 1/2" tubing as it matches the rest of the tubing.

Is this ok , or will it imbalance the tank ?

Or should the water inlet/outlet be same size tubing and will cause problems ?

I read somewhere but can't seem to find the link anymore that by connecting the inlet to a larger size it actually gives more pressure / volume ??

Thanks guys !

There is no problem as far as I can see to do that and it may give you a little more pressure and quicker fill times.
