What Is This?!

Post by JaeLorde » Sun May 05, 2019 10:11 pm

alright. my home (built in the early 40's) have these terrible cheap plank wood trims along the doors and windows. i removed one just to see what it would look like (drywall, concrete, etc.). but i can't identify it. not sure what to research in order to improve it.

Yup looks like plaster that's never been painted.

What can been done with this Clarence to make it look better and be left exposed? Could they wash this, prime it and coat over it with drywall mud ,sand it and paint?

Having been in the Plaster trade for over 40 years I would use the Master of Plaster product NO primer is required will adhere to the paint NO sanding is required & is easy to use compared to Sheet Rock products plus you can match all textures from very smooth to rough.
