DECK - Glass panels - adding privacy

Post by Love2Learn » Tue Sep 10, 2019 10:22 am

Hi Everyone!

Does anyone know if there is a window film that can be used for these external deck glass panels. I was hoping it would be a quick way to add some privacy but still keep the glass.

Thanks in advance.

You can buy just about any kind of window film you want. Apply to the inside of the window. We're using this on a bathroom remodel we're finishing up to add privacy to the glass doors.

Thanks Spruce, yes I got the idea from your bathroom post but was not sure if this would hold up on exterior glass open to the elements? Do you think it will hold up?

Cheers!

You tint the inside of the window, so it should fair pretty well, if not, you can always remove/replace it with automotive grade tint, which will stand up to the heat and direct sun.

This poster is talking about using it on decking glass panels. I would think they have that aluminum Regal railing or some other brand with the tempered glass panels instead of spindles?
I don't know what this film costs but It likely worth a try?
