Exterior brick

Post by Edonpa » Tue Oct 08, 2019 1:11 pm

Bought a house but it has this ugly brick work done. The mortar joins are solid but it was sloppy how can I clean this up to make it look better. This looks like it was done a few years ago.

That is sloppy I would agree. Short of maybe shot blasting the entire wall to even up the brick color ,I'm not sure. Lets see if anyone else chimes in with suggestions.

Yeah, that's a tough one . . . move maybe? :| ;) ;) ;)

Just teasing! You could very carefully go after the slopped mortar with an angle grinder and either a wire brush or a grinding wheel or flap disk. You won't get all of it, and you'll probably scar up the face of the brick a bit, but you won't have all the ugliness of sloppy mortar anymore.

The key here is to work very very carefully. Work slowly, take your time and stop before you go too deep and damage the brick face.
