Yeah we've had a tool library, a couple locations even, here in the TC for a few years now. it's a great thing! The cost they charge here is $55/year and the tool checkout time is up to 7 days.

I don't believe they have anything all that fancy or proprietary. So you're probably not going to find a Milwaukee PEX tube expander, or even a manual one for that matter. But they will have a corded drill, circular saw, sander, hammers, screwdrivers, etc.

But it's great for people who live in condos or whatever who neither own tools nor have the space to store tools even if they did own them!

Interesting idea, and cheap. I'm surprised with how many little things they have like paint rollers,screw drivers, driver bits those sorts of things are so cheap to buy really.

Cheap to buy, yes, but not necessarily cheap or easy to store. Think of people living in apartments or condos. I bet a lot of those things at the tool library are just donations from people who have moved to condos and are casting that stuff off!
