BASF Wall-Tite spray foam question

Post by Jmaclicious » Thu Sep 06, 2018 8:20 pm

I plan on going with a BASF Wall-Tite spray foam... probably 3" thickness in my basement, however my concrete walls were quite wavy in some spots behind the stud to the concrete wall i have 2" and in other spots i have 1/2", I was reading that the spray foam counts as a vapor barrier at 1".. would I have to rip all the studs to get more space behind the studs or would i be okay with the way it is?

No it will be fine the way it is the spray applier will get everything sealed to the wood. Just be sure it is a closed cell foam and it does indeed qualify to be a air vapour barrier. Also in many cases 2" is more then enough with spray foam properly installed.
