Securing windows

Post by Saurod » Wed Jul 10, 2019 11:19 am

Hi. I am looking to secure my windows better then they already are. I was looking at those little locks with the thumbscrews that go in the rail. I live in a rental so I cant screw anything into the frame or modify anything. However, my windows are on a rail system that looks like it slides up a metal dowel type of system. What should I get to block it from opening. I already have dowels angled to keep it from opening but want them to really have to work at it or break the glass to get in which would cause a racket and get the dog barking. Thanks.

I think you've got it covered, either those rail clamps or pieces of dowel to prevent opening. Anything that prevents the window from moving is going to work.
