Exterior steel door gap

I installed new weatherstripping on an exterior steel door and I have a large uniform gap on the doorknob side,any ideas on how to fix this issue ?

1 - Is the weatherstrip along the hinge side and top firmly pressed into place?
2 - Is the new weatherstrip identical to the old?
3 - Can you push on the door to close the gap and get the latch to fully engage the strike?

You can also change the hinges to fill the gap like a bit extended ones. i have seen some hinges that give you a couple of cm leverage.

Shin the door hinges a little to rotate the door over if you can without creating a gap on Hinge side. If it was the same weather strip you should have not had this happen?
