quarter round cut and install

Post by greg1 » Sat Nov 02, 2019 6:46 pm

Hi Guys,

I need to install quarter round on my stairs that lead to the basement. I need to make some angle cuts that are not straight and its hard for me for some reason. Are there any tricks to installing quarter round trim?
I already spoiled one piece.

quarter round is just like any other trim, so there are no tricks to cutting or installing it. What I would recommend is that you have scrap pieces of trim or just some scrap sticks that you cut to fit the spot you need, once you figure out the exact cut angles you can then cut the real pieces of trim for the spot. Cut pieces LONGER than they need to be, you can always shave off just a touch more as many times as it takes for a perfect fit, but you can never add it back on.
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
